On a beautiful Saturday Morning, I woke up from what had
just been a very hectic week but I had a very good Smile on my face because of
two things.
Firstly, It was a day I set aside to purchase my dream Android
phone, well for now which was the Techno Phantom 5 and secondly because God
gave me a chance to see another day. That’s how I see it daily and I thanked him
for that afterwards. Then the usual
morning norms followed (Bathing and co.), after it all; I was ready was the
word! So I headed to my place of this elusive purchase the famous Computer
Village here in Lagos.
Well for those of us who don’t really know Computer Village
or what it’s all about, as the name implies it’s like a very big village, the biggest
or in that bracket for tech items in West Africa and its located in the heart
of Lagos State Nigeria, Ikeja to be precise. On getting there I located the
Techno shop where I was to Purchase my all new Techno Phantom 5 device and
through the joy in my facial expression I guess even the dealer could tell what
it meant to me. On trying to ascertain
and agree on a price with the dealer an act popularly known over here as
pricing someone walked in.
A Woman not too old, and not to young but seemed she
wanted to also purchase one of the phones on show so she asked “I WANT TO BUY
AN ANDROID PHONE?”, the sales man replied, WHICH MADAM? then she reiterated "I
WANT TO BUY AN ANDROID PHONE?", this continued and the sales man was actually
getting annoyed I could tell from his tone and me being a good situation reader just
understood that the woman actually had money to buy the phone but didn’t just know
which Android Phone to purchase. The joy
that was initial very evident on my face just turned sour as I was held up in
that shop for some time, with I and the
sales boy just trying to put the lady through on the Android phenomenon also
prices and all that. But this is basically the story and motivation behind this
post which is glaringly sort of like a welcome post on this blog.
So what is Android..
Has become very imperative because almost everyone knows that the famous green-logo Android is a creation of search engine giants Google but Android has a lot of meanings, by the way found out the lady’s name was Gloria and I believe Gloria had one of the perceptions of an
Android definition but just needed to know what she really wanted.
If you're like Gloria no problem don’t be ashamed or alarmed not everybody actually knows
all, and what’s knowledge if not to be shared. I’m just going to be discussing this
very simple to the eye but many defined question What is Android?...with the definitive answers!
